BREATH MADE VISIBLE
USA/Switzerland, 2009, documentary
Director: Ruedi Gerber
For seven decades, American dance icon Anna Halprin has been at the forefront of a new era of experimentation in theater, music and performance art. Halprin’s belief in the power of dance to teach, heal and transform has helped to redefine the role of modern art. Beautiful dance sequences on stages around the world and improvisation on the dance deck under the California redwoods at Halprin’s home, along with interviews by other well-known dancers and strikingly candid conversations with Anna and her husband, architect Lawrence Halprin, bring to light of the life and work of this revolutionary, inspiring pioneer who has successfully fused art and life.
