G-DCAST

G-dcast is a new media production company out of San Francisco – their goal is to give every Jewish child and adult the chance to learn the basics with zero barriers to entry. If you've ever felt awkward about your Jewish knowledge, welcome home. G-dcast is for you! A place to tune in to Torah for a few minutes at a time, through  dozens of animated short films and mobile apps for adults and kids.

  BECHUKOTAI (G-dcast)

You probably already know that the Torah isn’t all rainbows and angels. Mirroring the angry tone of this Torah story, G‑dcast gets kinda dark and cranky for a change.

  BERESHIT (G-dcast)

Take a trippy voyage through Kabbalah and Torah with a Star Wars-tinged style.

  CROWNS (G-dcast)

Crowns is based around the question: why did some of Jewish Law change over time? Why, if all of these Laws are sacred, did we not receive them all at Mt. Sinai, and keep them as they were?

LO BASHAMAYIM HI (G-dcast)

“The Law is Not in Heaven.” Seems simple, right? God gave us the Torah and now we can do whatever we want with it. If you only read the first half of the story of Achnai’s oven, that’s exactly what you might think, but it’s a little more complicated than that.

LONELY AT THE TOP: A BROMANCE (G-dcast)

Pairing hip hop and Torah is a lot like the relationship between Reish Lakish and Rebbe Yohanan—a surprising but perfect match.

PSALM 1 (G-dcast)
A new interpretation of Psalm 1, through poetry and music exploring the path of the righteous versus that of the wicked. Written and performed by Elijah Aaron and animated by Ted Newiss.

  PSALM 23 (G-dcast)

Psalm 23, perhaps the best known of the psalms, speaks about the valley of the shadow of death.

  PSALM 42 (G-dcast)

This piece was written and performed by Jina Davidovich and animated by Jeremy Shuback. It looks into Psalm 42, which poses the question ‘Where is your G-d?’

  PSALM 90 (G-dcast)

This piece was written and performed by Rachel Lopez Rosenberg and animated by Charlie Corriea. It looks into Psalm 90, paralleling the structure and themes of that Psalm with Rachel’s experiences as a hospice chaplain.

  SHEMINI (G-dcast)

Just warning you. From dead priests to un-kosher feasts, Shemini has got it going on. A great big tip of the matador’s hat to Sephardic indie rock outfit DeLeon for the writing and performance.

VAYAKHEL (G-dcast)

The Children of Israel brought what their hearts moved them to bring in the building of the first Sanctuary…and this G‑dcast short is brought to you from Alicia Jo Rabins’ heart.

VEZOT HABRACHA (G-dcast)

It’s the end. Only….not. Tune in as bestselling young adult author David Levithan (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) talks about Moses’s death and the final words in the Torah. It’s a beautiful ending.
