VOLUNTEER COMP TICKET SYSTEM FOR FILMS

21st WASHINGTON JEWISH
FILM FESTIVAL

December 2-12, 2010

Volunteers are eligible for one complimentary ticket for every shift they work

We are grateful for the help of our wonderful volunteers and have set up a system to help you get receive this benefit.  Here’s how the system works.  Please pay careful attention to the details so it can work for you!

WJFF will hold 5 comp tickets for volunteers for every film excluding opening night, closing night, anything that sells out and other films at the discretion of the Festival staff.  Sell-outs are listed on the website as they happen (see also #2 below).

  1. Volunteers sometimes, but not always, are released from helping during part of their shifts to watch the film or leave.  However, please remember that you MAY NOT be able to watch the film that is screening during your shift if your help is needed as a volunteer, so if you definitely want to see a particular film, you need to schedule your volunteer shifts at OTHER times, then either ask to secure a comp ticket or buy a ticket to guarantee your admission.  Permission to view the film    for each shift will keep track of people who show up for their shifts and those that don’t. If you do not show up for any of your shifts without advance notice to volunteer@wjff.org, all volunteer complimentary tickets you are holding will be cancelled, and you will no long be eligible for any additional volunteer comp tickets for this year’s festival.

  2. Request the film(s) you want to see by emailing at least 48 hours in advance to volunteer@wjff.org.  Your email must include: your name, shifts you are working and the film name, date and time requested.  Any volunteer comp ticket requests made less than 48 hours in advance will NOT be honored.

  3. Within 24 hours of receiving the email request, a volunteer coordinator will notify you by email if your request was one of the first 5 received for the film you requested. Volunteers can also stand-by for any film, and we will accommodate IF seats are available. To stand by, arrive at the theater 30 minutes or more before the film’s scheduled start time.

  4. For films that you have received confirmation of a reservation, your name will be on the comp list at the Will Call table. You must claim your ticket at Will Call at least 15 minutes or more before show time.  All comp tickets will be released for sale 15 minute before show times.

  5. Volunteers signed up to work a shift after a film they want to see, may request on the honor system ONE volunteer comp ticket in advance of one volunteer shift by emailing to volunteer@wjff.org. Volunteers working shows near the end of the Festival may request a Screening Room pass for two for each volunteer shift works, valid until December 1, 2011, instead of one ticket to a festival film.
