THEATER J seeks full time Associate Producer

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collaborating with the Artistic Director on producing tasks related to Theater J’s theater plays, musicals, and new play development activities; serving as a member of the theater’s artistic staff; leading production and tech meetings; designing and supervising educational programming; contracting artists and technicians; arranging travel and accommodation for artists; hiring and supervising freelance stage managers; scheduling auditions and negotiating actor offers; coordinating with theatrical unions (AEA, SDC, USA); collaborating on institutional calendars and liaising with the DC Jewish Community Center staff; reading scripts; and archiving production materials. Bachelor’s degree required, along with 2-5 years of theater producing or production management experience. Candidates with curriculum design and implementation experience preferred.

The Associate Producer should have excellent communication skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize many projects in a fast-paced environment.

Understanding of Jewish culture, values and heritage is helpful. Ability to work nights and weekends is required.
