Judy Gold, star of the critically acclaimed 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother, is back in this hysterical coming-of-age memoir with music about Judy's life-long love affair with sitcoms and her professional quest to finally land a TV show of her own. But is America ready for a gay, kosher, 6'3" feminist Seinfeld with two kids, one bathroom, and weekly trips to the nursing home? And why can’t Judy get legally married in the state of New York anyway?
Funny, biting, revealing, and very timely.
"Mommy Queerest is solid gold laughs!" - Washington Post (Read more)
"Jews are generally a thinking people," Gold explained. "We are taught to look at things in different ways. Doing stand-up is part of who I am. Being a Jew is all of who I am. Being gay is part of who I am - it’s about who I love." - Judy Gold
"When the [grammer school] teachers would say, “Act your age, not your shoe size.” I would reply, “Same thing.” - Judy Gold
Where did it all begin?
"I graduated high school ......and went to Rutgers College in New Brunswick, NJ. I loved dorm life. Nobody teased me!! I had friends!! Anyway, my freshman year we had this amazing group of people living together. At holiday time we did “secret santas.” We were a very creative group, so everyday we would get these notes telling us what to do to get our prize. One day, my note said that I had to do a stand-up comedy show in the lounge on my floor, using our dorm-mates as material. Well, I took the whole day off from classes and wrote jokes about everyone who lived on my floor. I was so nervous, but I killed. I got a high from doing that that I had never had from doing anything else. " - www.judygold.com
Where has it led?

- the star of stand-up specials for Comedy Central Presents and HBO
