The Peace Cafe

Founded in November, 2000 in Washington, DC as a complement to Theater J’s production of David Hare’s theatrical memoir, VIA DOLOROSA, the Peace Café has become a forum where people of various faiths, backgrounds and nationalities respond to cultural presentations of often difficult issues – usually about life in the Middle East – in an open, non-threatening environment by means of respectful dialogue.  The Peace Cafe is not a forum for policy statements, lectures, or finger-pointing, but rather a place to share personal reactions, questions and stories, and to listen to the stories of others. Join the Peace Cafe email list and stay up to date on Peace Cafe Events by emailing Andy.

PEACE CAFE #2

Where: Busboys and Poets at 14th and V - 2021 14th Street NW, Washington DC 202-387-7638

When: Tuesday April 15, 2008 - 6:00PM-8:00PM

What: Book talk with Cindy and Craig Corrie - parents of Rachel Corrie - LET ME STAND ALONE: The Journals of Rachel Corrie.

The book is not about Corrie's death or how she was killed. Rather, it reveals how she lived, and what she lived for. It is the remarkable
writing—letters, journal entries, poems, e-mails, and drawings—of a young woman with an awakening sense of self and purpose and a
blossoming gift as a poet and writer. Many have formed an opinion about Rachel Corrie, why she died, and whether her mission on the last day of her life was good or bad or simply naive. Let Me Stand Alone serves as a rare insight into the developing writer and activist.
FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. FOOD AND BEVERAGE WILL BE AVAILABLE
