Mondays, 11:15-12:15 Cardio Yoga
This class is a more vigorous class that focuses on cardiopulmonary fitness, raising the heartbeat and increasing lung capacity. The class consists of seated and standing poses, with more repetitions of poses and focuses on coordinating movement and breath. Standing poses, done next to a chair, include balancing and strengthening ones, whereas seated poses focus more on stretching and breath work. Students are always encouraged to listen to their bodies and to do the poses at their own level of comfort and ability. Safety is stressed.
Wednesdays, 11:15-12:15 Meditation and Yoga
Guided meditations are offered at the beginning and end of the class. Seated and standing poses and stretches are done in an atmosphere of quiet encouragement. The class focuses on stretching and flexibility, developing body awareness, acceptance of limitations and appreciation of strengths. Students love the closing meditation, and say that the relaxation it provides is the best part of the class.
