Arna became Executive Director of the DCJCC on January 12, 1987. For a decade, she dreamed and planned to create the finest programs, attract the most talented staff and design a truly spectacular building in which to showcase them.
Exactly ten years later, on January 12, 1997, her vision was realized as the Washington DCJCC opened the doors of the Irwin P. Edlavitch Building at 16th and Q. In the decade since, under Arna’s leadership, the “Center in the City” has become one of the most successful JCCs in the country.
As we celebrate the tenth anniversary year of the return to our magnificent building, we thank Arna for 20 years of service to the Center she so loves, to the Jewish community and to Washington DC.
