Hyman S. and Freda Bernstein Library 

The Hyman S. and Freda Bernstein Library houses the Jewish Heritage Video Collection, the Milton Covensky Children's Collection, the Daniel and Hadassah Thursz Collection and a collection of geneology books and materials donated by Michael Salzberg.

Members may check books out of the library for up to three weeks.  Please present the selection you wish to borrow to the staff at the Q Street Front Desk.  Anyone is welcome to come in and browse, study or research in the library.

The Library may be reserved for programs and meetings.  Please call Wanda Chichester at (202) 777-3265 or visit J Rentals.

The Jewish Heritage Video collection was donated by the Milton Covensky Fund and many national donors.  This collection contains close to 200 films on many subjects including Israel, the Holocaust, Jewish humor and more.  Members may check out videos from the Library at no cost for up to one week. 

The books highlighted by the Sugarman Family Award for Jewish Children's Literature augment the children's collection.

Library programs inlcude story hours for children, Chaim Kempner "Meet the Author" evenings, the Hyman S. and Freda Bernstein Jewish Literary Festival, and more.
