Washington Jewish Film Festival
Internships start no later than September 2006 (summer start-dates are also available) and run through the conclusion of the Festival in mid-December.  Internships are available in a variety of positions depending on the applicant's interests and skills.  All internships are unpaid.  Candidates should send an email with their resume and a letter explaining their interests and qualifications to Jessica Perlman.

Literature, Music & Dance Intern: Marketing & Outreach Washington DC Jewish Community Center

The fall intern will experience working in the ongoing fall programs and in the Washington Jewish Literary Festival. The spring intern will experience working in the ongoing spring programs and in the Washington Jewish Music Festival. Year-round position (can fit school semesters). 10-12 hours per week during business hours, additional evenings and weekend during October 6-16, and June 1-8. Unpaid internship; school credit may be arranged.

Marketing internships
MEMBER ADVANTAGE PROGRAM
INTERNSHIP POSITION

This internship will focus on developing the Washington DCJCC Member Advantage Program. The internship is unpaid, but the intern will receive free fitness membership as well as staff discounts to all programs, events and performances. The J’s Member Advantage Program serves local businesses with customer referrals and J members with special discounts and offers. The Member Advantage Program intern will focus both on business-to-business development (the J’s relationship to the Member Advantage Program participating businesses) and business-to-consumer development (promoting Member Advantage Program value to J members). The following list is a sampling of the required activities necessary for development of the Member Advantage Program:

Business-to-business
1. Maintaining up-to-date information on each program participant, including contact information, logo artwork, retail/office storefront photos, and discount offer to J members
2. Recruiting new program participants
3. Ensuring J’s monthly Center in the City magazine is available at each participant location
4. Development of decal that identifies participation and is prominently placed on storefront (akin to VISA, Mastercard, Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau stickers)
5. Developing placement opportunities (e.g., flower arrangement in lobby, toiletries in locker rooms, vitamins in Fitness Center)
6. Creating and maintaining a bi-monthly e-letter to program participants
7. Developing advertising opportunities (e.g., display advertising in Center in the City, joint advertising in third-party publications)

Business-to-consumer
1. Developing promotional materials for J current and potential members
2. Ensuring accurate information in Center in the City
3. Assist in coordinating a Member Appreciation Day utilizing the services/co-sponsorship of Member Advantage Program partners
4. Develop a contest/drawing whereby members increase their chances of winning various Member Advantage Partner-donated prizes by increased patronage of Member Advantage Partner participating businesses
