Take advantage of the 16th Street J's many sports spaces while improving your skills in basketball, soccer, swimming and more. Do you love helping out at home in the kitchen? In our J Chefs program you will learn the basics of cooking and nutrition. This year’s program will be designed with a fun International Culinary Adventure theme where you will cook and sample foods from around the world. Use the skills and techniques learned to prepare a menu you develop. You’ll take home new skills and recipes to share with your family!
About the Instructor
Lynda Espada has taken advanced cooking courses at L’Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg and The Natural Gourmet Cooking School in New York City. She is the Director of the Sports, Fitness and Aquatics department at the Washington DCJCC. Lynda is also a certified Group X Instructor and Personal Trainer. She is currently studying for a Lifestyle and Weight Management Certification.

James Bond? Austin Powers? Do you think you have what it takes to discover “who done it”? From secret communications to detective crime science; decoding messages to metal detectors and night vision. You will get a chance to check out cool spy equipment and even create your own edible message in a hands-on look at the science that spies use!
