Camps for teens entering Grades 7–12

Counselors-in-Training (CITs) 

Entering Grades 7–9

Session Dates:
June 23–July 3
July 7–18
July 21–August 1
August 4–15

$550 per session; Members $480

Combine leadership training with all the fun of a summer at camp. In addition to being a role model for the younger campers, and participating in CIT-only field trips, CITs will coordinate mitzvah projects and Fun Days for the Ruach camps. CITs also earn 36 SSL community service hours per two-week session.

Leaders-in-Training (LITs) 

Applicants entering 9th grade must have completed two years of a CIT program.
Applicants entering 10th grade or above must have completed one year of a CIT program.

If accepted, there is no cost to attend this program.

Leaders-in-Training (LIT) is a program for selected teens who are looking for a deeper experience in summer camp counseling. LITs receive training in CPR, best practices for working with children, and how to plan and implement special events. Successful completion of the program will earn each LIT a small stipend.

Community Service Camp

$430 per session; Members $375

Spend your summer making the world a better place! Work directly with the DCJCC’s Morris Cafritz Center for Community Service (MCCCS) this summer and help change lives. Campers choose a dedicated track of direct service or construction and repair with MCCCS’s Behrend Builders. Community service opportunities include food distribution, shelter repair, working with seniors, community clean-up and more. Campers earn up to 30 SSL hours of community service per week.
