KIDS' SWIM CLASSES

All J Kids Swim classes for Saturday, February 6 and Sunday, February 7 are cancelled. Make up class will be scheduled for a later date.

WEDNESDAY LITTLE FLIPPERS I  & II (4-36 Months)

This is a combined class of Little Flippers I & II (4-36 months).
A class for both child and caregiver designed to successfully introduce your child to water, and the caregiver to water safety instruction. The sooner your child is introduced and acclimated to the water and pool surroundings, the earlier your child will experience swimming success and water safety.

This is an eight week session:

LITTLE FLIPPERS I  (4-18 Months)

A class for both child (4–18 months) and caregiver designed to successfully introduce your child to water, and the caregiver to water safety instruction. The sooner your child is introduced and acclimated to the water and pool surroundings, the earlier your child will experience swimming success and water safety.

LITTLE FLIPPERS II (19-36 Months)

A class for both child (19–36 months) and caregiver designed to successfully introduce your child to water, and the caregiver to water safety instruction. The sooner your child is introduced and acclimated to the water and pool surroundings, the earlier your child will experience swimming success and water safety. This class differs slightly from Little Flippers I because its activities require more movement, and a higher level of child comfort in the water.

These are eight week sessions:

LEVEL 1 TADPOLES (3-5 YEARS)


This class is for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old who have had no prior swim instruction.  The goal of the class is to teach your child basic water and pool safety, as well as basic swimming skills such as: blowing bubbles, straight leg kicking, front floats and back floats.  The class consists of instruction, drills, songs and games.  A caregiver must join the child in the water.  Floatation devices are discouraged.

LEVEL 2 GUPPIES (3-5 YEARS)

This class is for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old who have had swim instruction and are able to put their faces in the water, blow bubbles and use somewhat straight legs when kicking (not necessarily all at the same time). This class will continue your child's swimming education, focusing on such skills as arm movements while kicking and kicking while on his/her back. The goal is for your child to be able to swim between 5 and 10 yards unassisted by the end of the class. Only children and instructors will be in the water.  Floatation devices are not allowed.

This is an eight week session.

ADULT SWIM CLASSES

 

Swim Stroke Technique


This is an advanced stroke technique class for adults (ages 16+) who want to improve efficiency, strength and endurance in the pool. This class will also work on learning and improving flip turns. This course is great for anyone who wants to improve their lap swimming ability, including tri-athletes and athletes.

Class is limited to eight adults.

These are four week sessions:

ONGOING ADULT SWIM CLASSES


Aquafitness


A fun workout in the pool with emphasis on aerobic movements. This class will raise your heart rate and get you in shape.

Mondays and Wednesdays 7:00-8:00 pm
Cost: Free for fitness members/ $5 community members/ $8 non-members


Senior AquaFitness

This class combines low impact aerobic movements and gentle stretching in the pool. Builds muscle tone and heart rate through water resistance.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:00-10:00 am.
Cost: Free for fitness members / $5 community members / $8 non-members.



PRIVATE AND SEMI-PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS

Lessons are available for members and non-members of all ages!
It's never too late or too early to learn to swim. Learn to swim today or improve your skills. Private lessons with one of our experienced swim instructors are available to swimmers of all ages and abilities. Appointments are scheduled at your convenience.


Cost:

Members – ½ hour lessons
Private- $20.00
Semi-private (2 people) - $15.00 per person
Group private (3 or 4 people) - $10.00 per person

 

Non-members – ½ hour lessons
Private- $30.00
Semi-private (2 people) - $22.50 per person
