VOLUNTEER WITH CENTER CORPS: EARN A FREE FITNESS MEMBERSHIP

Earn free membership by volunteering at the Washington DCJCC! For every 12-18 hours of service (varies depending on the job) per month at the 16th Street J, volunteers are awarded a month's free membership. Find out how you can help around the center, based on your availability and interests, and the needs of the staff.

Each job has its own requirements and all volunteers must be interviewed and approved by the supervising staff member.

Current Center Corp opportunities:

Member Services
A volunteer is needed in the Member Services office. Candidate will help with membership concerns of current members, tours of the facilities and office support. Customer service background preferred. We require our volunteers commit to one three hour shift per week for a total of 12 to 15 hours a month. Shifts are Monday through Thursday from 3:00-6:00 pm or 6:00-9:00 pm as well as two Sunday shifts from 10:00 am-1:00 pm or Noon-3:00 pm. We also have substitute positions available. The duties are quite simple and all volunteers will be trained by Washington DCJCC staff. Film Office Assistant
The Film Office is looking for a volunteer to help as office support including website and database updates, film tracking, community outreach and other office tasks (yes, sometimes it’s stuffing envelopes, too!) related to the Washington Jewish Film Festival and year-round screening program.  Good phone, organizational and computer skills are important. Volunteers will need to commit to working one four-hour shift or two two-hour shifts per week.  Volunteer hours are flexible, Monday through Thursday, any time during the day or early evening until 7:00 pm.  If interested, please email a short cover note and resume to susanb@washingtondcjcc.org.
