Jewish Historical Society and Small Jewish Museum

The oldest synagogue building in Washington, dedicated in 1876, now houses the Lillian and Albert Small Jewish Museum. This museum retains various parts of its original construction, despite its restoration and exhibits personal memorabilia, loaned from nearby residents, which capture the Jewish culture.

The Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation's Capital is an independent, community Jewish day school where our students enjoy a dual curriculun of general and Judaic studies that instills knowledge, values and commitment to community in each student. Founded in 1987, JPDS has approximely 180 students in pre-k through grade six. We are co-educational and welcome families from the entire spectrum of Jewish observance.
